Air Filters
Numerous major car and engine manufacturers rightly rely on MAHLE Original's expertise and competence in air filters: because engine performance, torque, low consumption and minimum emissions are only possible with well filtered air. Our filters consisting of cellulose (paper), synthetic felt or a combination of these can exclude all kinds of unwanted substances. They catch harmful dust, soot and tire wear particles up to 99.98%. The thinnest filters can exclude almost all particles larger than 3 microns. Thus, MAHLE filters prevent premature wear on valves, cylinder working surfaces, piston rings, plain bearings and other engine components. Attention, however: Filters must be replaced with new ones at intervals stipulated by automobile manufacturers in order to work continuously.
In order to protect the filters from getting wet, precautions are taken at the entrance of the suction channel, and as little water as possible reaches the filter element. However, if moisture penetrates the filter, we have taken the necessary precautions against it. To increase the resistance of the filter element to water and chemicals, our filter papers are impregnated with a special synthetic resin. Our filter elements also retain their shape in glued parts and crimp ends.
